Lirangwe, 15 February 2025 – In a remarkable display of environmental stewardship, the Chimwankhunda Living Waters Youth Church carried out a tree planting project in Lirangwe on 15 February 2025. The initiative, driven by the church’s youth members, aimed at promoting environmental conservation and community awareness on the importance of trees for sustainable living.

Armed with seedlings, shovels, and a shared vision for a greener future, the youth volunteers planted trees across strategic locations in the community. The project not only sought to restore the local ecosystem but also to inspire residents to take active roles in preserving the environment.

The project was marked by enthusiastic participation, with youth members leading by example and engaging local residents in discussions about climate change, deforestation, and the benefits of tree planting. Speaking during the event, the Youth Church Coordinator emphasized that “every tree planted today represents hope for a healthier environment and a brighter future for our community.”

Community members expressed appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its potential to enhance green spaces, improve air quality, and foster community unity. The project also served as an educational platform, teaching young people practical skills in tree care and environmental responsibility.

The Chimwankhunda Living Waters Youth Church has pledged to continue such initiatives, aiming to make tree planting an annual event and to involve more communities in their conservation efforts.

This project reflects the church’s commitment to combining spiritual growth with practical actions that benefit society and the environment. Through such initiatives, the youth demonstrate that faith and environmental stewardship can go hand in hand.
